Previously business development manager in Spain, Keys will be returning to the UK at the end of October to further promote and head up IMS’ process and packaging services for UK brokers whose clients are buying abroad.
Global issues affecting the worldwide mortgage market have made it more difficult for UK brokers to deal direct with banks in foreign countries on one-off cases as the impact of higher interest rates and higher defaults have caused banks to considerably strengthen their risk criteria. Linking into IMS’ expertise and range of banks lessens the impact of these current issues.
Heather Chambers, product development director for IMS said: “As a company we commit to providing robust information, offer a wide choice of markets and undertake responsibility for recommending product along with a document collection service. Having Steve on the ground in the UK will not only enable us to expand our process and packaging services but also give brokers a local point of contact.
“We understand the markets we work in and also understand the need for the broker to be kept updated on progress throughout the entire process. IMS does not directly charge any client fee allowing the broker complete flexibility on what charges they make to their client. Our approach means that we only contact their client if the broker requests we do, never cross-sell to their client and pay a healthy commission promptly on completion. This allows brokers to maximum incomes whilst minimising input with the knowledge that their clients’ best interests will looked after at all times.”
Keys’ move is also made in anticipation of the launch IMS’ online search and sourcing facility. Whilst other providers like Mortgage Brain are known to be developing and launching an overseas search facility, IMS’ system will be unique as it covers the entire process. Brokers will be able to pass clients after recommendation to IMS’ administration team for processing through to completion. The new system will also provide online tracking facilities throughout the lifecycle of the application.
