Graeme Sutton, mortgage and protection associate at London & Country, wins a luxury trip for two to New York including flights, four nights at the prestigious Waldorf Astoria Hotel and £500 spending money.
In line with mte analysts’ predictions, the transaction, a Nationwide AIP, was completed and processed by Graeme at 10.55 am on 29 January 2007.
On behalf of London & Country, Patrick Bunton, compliance and operations director, commented: “The start of 2007 has been a record breaker for the company with impressive activity levels being seen for all of our advisers. Of course, we’re absolutely delighted for Graeme for being the one who processed the 500,000th transaction on the mte; he’s won a fantastic prize and we’re sure he’ll have a great time in the Big Apple.”
Since the competition was launched in December, the mte has seen a huge surge in the number of transactions processed via the platform. January was its busiest month ever with a record breaking 33,000 mortgage transactions taking place. Annually this represents over £50 billion worth of mortgages per year being submitted, making the mte the largest single delivery channel for mortgage placement in the industry.
Mark Lofthouse, chief executive officer of the Mortgage Trading Exchange, who presented the prize to Graeme, added: “The massive increase in the number of transactions processed during the start of the year has been amazing; the competition could have been won by anyone but it seems quite fitting that it was an adviser at London & Country.
“The company has been committed to electronic trading and the adoption of the latest technological developments since its inception and we’re delighted that the mte is playing a key role in helping it to maintain its position at the forefront of the mortgage advice business through the delivery of the best possible products and services.”
