Leeds BS and Quantum Mortgages boost teams with key additions

Leeds Building Society and Quantum Mortgages have each announced new appointments aimed at strengthening their intermediary and business development teams.

Leeds Building Society has appointed Andy Alvarez (pictured left) as national intermediary development manager.

With 25 years of experience in the financial services industry, Alvarez joins from St James’s Place, where he was head of division for partner finance. His extensive career includes senior roles at Morgan Stanley, Nationwide, Mansfield Building Society, and Vida Homeloans.

In his new position, Alvarez will oversee the mutual’s intermediary sales strategy and manage the field-based relationship team in the South of England and Northern Ireland.

“Andy’s already proven that he is a highly engaged and versatile leader,” said James O’Reilly, head of intermediary partnerships at Leeds Building society. “We look forward to seeing how he will take our teams to the next level and demonstrate to our intermediary partners that we are committed to supporting them in helping more people onto and up the property ladder.”

Meanwhile, specialist lender Quantum Mortgages has appointed Kevin Beale (pictured right) as business development manager for the Midlands and Mid Wales.

Beale, who brings over two decades of experience in financial services, most recently worked as a specialist finance account manager at OSB Group, where he focused on managing specialist finance accounts through the Interbay brand. His background also includes roles at Santander UK, where he served as business development manager, and at Countrywide Mortgage Services.

“Kevin’s wealth of experience and proven track record in the industry will be invaluable as we continue to grow and innovate in the buy-to-let market,” said Harsha Dahyea, head of sales and distribution at Quantum Mortgages.
