He takes over from Andrew Healy, who has decided to step down to focus on his role as non-executive director
Leek Building Society has announced the appointment of Andy Deeks (pictured right) as its new chief executive, subject to regulatory approval.
Deeks is expected to join the mutual on August 1, allowing for a seamless handover from current CEO Andrew Healy (pictured left), who, after a six-year tenure, has decided to step down from his position to pursue the next phase of his career as a non-executive director.
Deeks brings extensive experience as an executive director in the building society and financial services sectors. An advocate of mutuality, Deeks expressed his enthusiasm for his new role, stating that it was a privilege to be appointed as chief executive of Leek Building Society.
After six transformative years as our CEO, Andrew Healy has decided to step down at the end of July. We're delighted to announce Andy Deeks (on right below) as our new Chief Executive, subject to regulatory approval.

“I’ve been hugely impressed with the society so far, and I look forward to working with the team at Leek to further develop this modern, progressive mutual organisation to be an even better place for savers, borrowers, colleagues and communities,” he said.
Commenting on his time with the society, Healy said it was an honour to work with the team.
“I’m tremendously proud that, together, we have not only fortified the society’s financial strength but even more importantly, we have delivered on our purpose to enhance the lives of our members, employees and communities,” he added. “My sincere thanks to everyone for making my time here so enjoyable and memorable.”
Speaking of the CEO transition, Rachel Court, chair of the Leek Building Society board, expressed gratitude to Healy and welcomed Deeks.
“Andrew Healy has been a superb leader of the society for the past six years and leaves an incredibly strong platform with a wonderful team of people and transformed systems, premises and culture,” Court said. “We are incredibly grateful to Andrew for everything he has achieved and wish him well with everything he does in the future.
“I’m delighted to welcome Andy Deeks to the society and look forward to working together with him and the whole team to harness the tremendous foundations which the society now has as we move forward into the next exciting phase of our development. A proven leader in the mutual sector, I’m confident Andy will bring his vision to life in leading our society to even greater heights.”
