DAS will unveil a range of products designed for brokers to sell alongside their mainstream mortgage offerings. The products include ‘property let legal protection’ aimed at the buy-to-let and commercial lending sectors and ‘home emergency’ aimed at all residential clients.
The mortgage broker team will be headed by Debbie Ranger, formerly of Mortgage Times group.
The two key products being launched are:
• Property Let Legal Protection - helps landlords protect their legal rights including in the event that tenants fall behind with rent or cause damage to the property.
• Home Emergency – provides 24 hour assistance for a range of emergencies including: damage to the roof, plumbing, drainage, heating, power, home security systems.
Additional products include:
• ID Theft - expert support and legal assistance for victims of identity theft.
• DAS Householdlaw - the legal information and document preparation website.
• Helpline services - legal advice, tax advice and other telephone helplines.
Lyndon Willshire, head of sales and marketing at DAS said: “Up until now, mortgage brokers have had limited access to such products and, as one of the UK’s leading providers, we want to change this. We are very confident that consumer demand exists and we are looking to work with brokers to satisfy it.
"For example, we estimate that fewer than 20% of landlords protect themselves against tenants failing to make payments and the subsequent costs associated with evictions. This is just one example where brokers can add real value to their clients for a relatively small cost and one that can be offset against tax.”
DAS will be displaying their products at stand G10.
