Legal & General Home Insurance has retained Sedgwick as a long term partner for subsidence field and investigation services and Geobear has joined the panel to provide bespoke sub-structure claims solutions services.
The arrangement will see Legal & General, Sedgwick and Geobear work in partnership across the three companies to deliver customer solutions.
William Quibell, head of major loss and supplier management, Legal & General, General Insurance, said: “We are delighted to have extended our arrangement with Sedgwick whilst bringing a new partner into the subsidence panel to improve how Legal & General and Sedgwick assess and manage more complex claims.
“We are the first UK insurer to enter into a direct arrangement with Geobear, who will enhance the services that we and Sedgwick can provide to our customers.
“It is a great credit to Sedgwick and Geobear that we have been able work together to design an industry first with this model which will provide significantly better customer outcomes and satisfaction than the oftenfavoured capped-indemnitymodel.”
Kevin Williams, Sedgwick head of subsidence, said: “It’s great we have been able to extend our long term arrangement with Legal & General.
“Our new triage process, underpinned with digital technology, will allow us to determine claims liability and even settlement on the same day as the claim is lodged. For non-complex valid claims we will be able to provide customers with a repair start date during our initial visit.”
Alex Finch, Geobear UK commercial director, said: “Geobear have been focussing heavily on how we can assist the insurance market by taking the pain out of some subsidence claims for customers.
“New innovations have allowed us to dramatically reduce lifecycles and Legal & General have embraced this opportunity which will make a real difference to their customers.”
This announcement follows a full market review across the entire UK subsidence adjusting and outsourcing market.
