The upgraded system, jointly developed by Crystal Software, will link directly to Legal & General’s point of sale system for general insurance, ‘GIology’. For the first time, this will enable advisers to swiftly generate quotes for both household insurance and buy-to-let property insurance using the same tool. A quick quote facility also means that advisers may receive an indicative cost for their customers by just answering a few questions.
The system will link to HBOS’ mortgage applications systems with the added benefit of pre-populated application forms, avoiding the need to re-key client information.
Advisers will also be able to improve their client retention and profitability with a new functionality which allows them to download all key data required to re-evaluate current clients’ situations and contact them for a review if necessary.
Simon Maskell, technology director for housing said: “Advisers will now find it even easier to apply for Legal & General household and buy-to-let insurance and HBOS mortgages with a slicker system. We believe that the new link to HBOS application systems is a sign of things to come and that we can replicate this improvement with other lenders. The new client data download facility will also help advisers make the most of their existing client bank, boosting their profitability. It will give them the tools they need to review their clients’ needs and proactively contact those with gaps in cover, for example.”
