Legal & General Network launches iPhone app

This is the first iPhone app to be launched just for mortgage advisers. The app allows brokers to search the market using basic borrower requirements such as loan amount, LTV and preferred rate type. The results can be sorted according to criteria such as initial rate, initial payment or total to pay, for example.

Simon Maskell, director, technology at Legal & General, said: “Many brokers use iPhones these days so this is a useful way for them to engage with clients whilst they are out and about without the need to boot up a laptop. It’s a mortgage sourcing tool in an innovative format which means that ‘point of sale’ can now be anywhere you can get mobile reception.”

Once a quote has been generated, the results can be emailed to the adviser who can then make an appointment to go through the full quote and apply service in person.

David Aylmer, business development and marketing director from TrigoldCrystal said: “The iPhone app development follows in our new series of Webtool developments announced earlier this year and we are very pleased to be using our technology to develop the new Legal & General Network mortgage sourcing iPhone app. With the explosion of use of the iPhone, this is a great addition to the Mortgage Club and I am sure will help its members greatly.”
