SMS, which has been monitoring lender service since the beginning of the year, has sent out a daily email to introducers keeping them informed of lender response times since January, believes that normal service will be resumed for all lenders shortly.
Ian Balfour, sales & marketing director at SMS, said: “It has been a very testing time for all introducers trying to get their deals through against a backdrop of constantly changing criteria and lender withdrawals. But I think we are seeing a return to normal service standards, which is to be welcomed.”
He added “Our lenders have worked very hard to clear the logjam. Given the difficult circumstances they have had to work under, particularly as they have managed to maintain a presence in the market while others have faded away, I think their diligence is to be applauded. Now all we need is to see a little confidence to emerge to bolster the available funding lines we have!”
