It now says it is on target to deliver £30 billion in mortgage applications in 2007.
Ben Thompson, mortgages director at Legal & General said: “Against a backdrop of a declining market, we are bucking the trend with strong growth. Halloween brought some frighteningly good figures having distributed £2 billion of mortgages in October alone. Whilst others may be struggling, we are going from strength to strength.
“Legal & General Partnership Services Limited (LGPSL), our mortgage network, has also showed great success in a challenging market, showing that it has the stamina to survive and prosper as other networks have closed or consolidated since M-Day.”
