She has been with Legal & General for over 16 years most recently as Managing Director of our successful Group Risk operation where, over the past eight years, she has led the business through a period of extraordinary growth. Under Jane's professional and enthusiastic management the business has grown from £60m to £200m.”
Jane Dale takes over the role of Managing Director (General Insurance), subject to FSA approval, from Ian Viney who has accepted the opportunity to return to run Legal & General’s CIL* joint venture in Egypt.
Kate Avery said, “I would like to thank Ian Viney for all his support, hard work and enthusiasm over the past two and a half years. During this time he has built our core general insurance business to over twice the size it was when he joined us in 2003. Ian has been particularly instrumental in building our broker and business partner distribution capabilities. Ian has recently accepted the offer to return to Egypt and again head up our joint venture operation there. I wish him every success.”
Jane’s successor as Managing Director, Group Risk, is Simon Gadd.
John Pollock, Group Director (Products and Corporate) said, “I am delighted that Simon has been promoted to become our new Managing Director for Group Risk. Simon has been working for Legal & General for over 18 years, including a period as product actuary in Group Risk. More recently he has worked as Protection Director, running our highly successful protection product area.”
