In two years of trading, the Partnership has distributed almost £37 billion of intermediated mortgage applications to more than 300,000 cases, as principal to its appointed representative (AR) firms.
Legal & General believes the success of the Partnership can be attributed to its good relationships with lenders and ARs, and its use of a technology-based solution to recommending compliant mortgages and insurance. 2006 saw the company achieve a high score in its annual survey of agent satisfaction, with 77 per cent of respondents rating the service provided by the Partnership as excellent, very good or good.
Mark Screeton, national sales director, business partnerships at Legal & General, said: “These impressive results demonstrate that the initial decisions made in establishing the network were correct. The extensive use of technology has proved a cost effective way to deliver to regulatory requirements and provide a valuable service to customers.”
Andrew Frankish, managing director of Mortgage Talk, commented: “Working in partnership with Legal & General means we can benefit from their best practice systems and robust presence in the marketplace. Legal & General offers us a highly efficient and cost effective solution.”
Looking to the future, Legal & General’s housing director Stephen Smith, said: “Our established relationships with regulatory and representative bodies and the constant dialogue we have with our many partners means that we are on the front foot when it comes to meeting the changing demands of the market.”
