Exclusive deals, with its panel of lenders, produced £3.5 million of mortgage completions last year.
Premier Mortgage Services, bought by Bankhall PointOne in January, claims to overshadow L&G’s figures with its 15,000 adviser-base and £27 billion of completions last year, whereas according to estimations, Norwich Union appears to be in third place with £8 billion of completions last year, despite ‘regular contact’ with over 7,000 brokers.
Norwich Union is also expected to announce whether it intends to apply for Principal status soon and a spokesman said he was “mindful of the fact many in the industry were watching this space closely”.
