Legal & General has promoted Darren Prior from insurance account manager to head of broker within its general insurance (GI) division.
Prior (pictured) joined L&G as an insurance account manager, where he managed key broker/partner relationships within the broker channel. He will now be responsible for developing the broker GI proposition and strategy and will report directly to Simon Hird, director of broker & intermediary.

With over 30 years’ experience in the insurance and protection markets including roles at Norwich Union, Aviva and Markerstudy Group, Prior has managed some of the largest accounts in the insurance market.
His responsibilities included setting distribution strategies, developing and delivering new product propositions to market, as well as managing sales teams and accounts across the broker, corporate, affinity, bank and building society sectors.
