The three products are 2 year fixed rates from 4.08% and are available through appointed representatives of Legal & General Partnership Services Ltd (LGPSL). All three mortgages are available to homebuyer customers only.
Ben Thompson, Director, Mortgages at Legal & General said: “These mortgages come with some really competitive rates and will be highly sought after. All credit to Abbey for bringing some innovation to the market and for shaking things up a bit. Switching current accounts is actually pretty easy and the Abbey switcher service makes sure that everything goes smoothly. It’s a simple way of getting a great deal on a mortgage.”
Gary Burchett, Managing Director of Housing at Legal & General added: “Our mortgage network is one of the biggest in the market and lenders often choose to restrict distribution to this channel only because the support and training that we give ARs leads to a quality business pipeline. What Abbey will be looking for from this trial is a demonstration that there are business opportunities for both the broker and themselves by bundling current accounts with mortgages. We are confident that we can do that.”
