Agreement allows customers to access platform's insurance cover

Lyfeguard enters partnership with Hometree

Lyfeguard, a digital life-planning assistant and document management platform, has partnered with Hometree, the home services tech company, to connect users with cost-effective heating and home emergency solutions.

As part of the agreement, Lyfeguard users will be able to access Hometree’s services directly through the smart platform’s insurance cover for boilers, central heating, and other home essentials, such as plumbing and electrics.

“Lyfeguard shares many of the same values as Hometree, particularly in our mission to reduce the stress of the UK population,” said Mark McAuley, head of commercial operations of Hometree.

He added that while Hometree does this through accessible, affordable, and transparent home cover, Lyfeguard does so through centralising, sharing, and providing insights into crucial user information.

“We are, therefore, thrilled to have formed this strategic partnership in order to bring crucial services to customers across the UK who already face many difficulties during the cost-of-living crisis, including record-breaking inflation,” McAuley said.

Fraser Stewart (pictured), chief operating officer of Lyfeguard, said the firm intends to make every aspect of life planning and management easier.

“We are delighted to be collaborating with Hometree, who not only provide fair and industry-leading home cover solutions to UK customers, but do so with transparency, honesty and  great customer service,” he added.

An estimated 72% of homeowners do not understand home emergency insurance and the benefits of taking out cover, according to a study by Forbes Advisor.

The research also found that boiler cover is cost-effective for just 1% of policy holders, due to disproportionate pricing and unfair price-hikes from some existing service providers in the market.
