This allows MAB customers at its 250 branches across the country, which fall into this category to benefit from eleven specialist sub prime lenders.
Filling a gap
Alex Knaggs, Sales Director at Direct Financial Services, comments: “Contrary to popular opinion, the non-conforming sector is not all about people with CCJs and previous repossessions. We are increasingly seeing applicants with low credit scores because they are self employed or have not held a bank account for a sufficiently long period. That represents a large proportion of potential borrowers who find it hard to borrow on the High Street and we are helping to fill that gap.”
Peter Brodnicki, Chief Executive of Mortgage Advice Bureau, comments: “It’s estimated that one in four Britons would be turned down by a mainstream mortgage lender and so we feel it’s essential from a customer service perspective to offer a top quality range of sub prime mortgages. Direct Financial Services will enable us to offer a first class range of competitive products to our increasing number of non-conforming clients.”
