Sturgess, who joins from Centrica where he was a district sales manager, will manage Magellan’s sales team, providing support to intermediaries in England and Wales.
He has 20 years of sales management experience in the financial services sector with GE Money, Firstplus Financial Group, City Mortgage Corporation and Heritable Finance.
Mark Snape, managing director of lending at Magellan Homeloans, said: “Jon will play an important role in shaping the business for the future as we look to build on the success we have enjoyed following the repositioning of Magellan as a credit repair lender and expanding our distribution reach further.”
With its ‘credit repair’ strategy, Magellan accepts mortgage applications from borrowers who can explain and document the reasons for their financial difficulties and can demonstrate they have not incurred any new adverse credit over the last 12 months.
