Webster joins from rival servicer HML where he was head of business development.
He has been hired into his new role at Vertex by sales director Adam Oldfield, who has also recently joined the company.
At HML, Webster worked his way through different departments of the business for 16 years, spending the last seven years in a commercial and business development role.
As his career progressed, he came to develop a particular speciality in building client and industry relationships, with his experience establishing him as an expert in financial services outsourcing.
His role at Vertex will be to support Adam Oldfield in growing the company’s client portfolio, which already includes major lenders including ING, Virgin, Birmingham Midshires, Alliance & Leicester, Tesco, JP Morgan and other large investment banks.
Webster’s appointment comes at a time of growth at Vertex as the company has begun actively to promote what it believes is a market-leading platform having recently successfully brought a major new lender to market.
Managing director Robert Coyle said: “Now is the time for us to concentrate on selling our services to the financial services world. We have spent many years focusing on developing the most robust and highest quality business process outsourcing software and service, and we are confident that today we can give clients the best systems that are currently on offer.
"With his connections and experience in this market, we are sure that Mark will help us to take this message to lenders and other prospective clients."
