Speaking at this morning’s Mortgage Business Expo in London Robert Sinclair, director of the Association of Mortgage Intermediaries, said the Financial Services Authority must deliver a final draft of the Mortgage Market Review now.
He said: “One of the things we’ve been pushing very hard for is to get these things out there on MMR. We’ve spent time debating this and now we need it out there in the public domain so we can have some certainty about what business will look like in years to come.”
He said the FSA must stop worrying about whether they have got the numbers exactly right and the nuance of the rules perfect and publish something.
He added: “All we are looking for is a level playing field. We don’t want special favours. From our perspective we just want to be able to deliver service and trust.”
Sinclair added that AMI was now leading the discussion on behalf of all intermediaries in Europe, ahead of any other European state.
