The Mortgage Code Compliance Board (MCCB) has opened dates for its seminars to help MCCB firms prepare for ‘Mortgage Day’ on 31 October 2004. These seminars will be held in the first quarter of 2004 and are designed to help MCCB registered firms prepare for statutory regulation under the FSA.
The seminars will focus on the practical implementation of the new FSA rules. They will cover the following topics:
- Regulatory choices – which route will your firm choose to take under the new regime?
- The Mortgage Selling Rules
- The Mortgage Sales Process
disclosure requirements
initial Disclosure Document (IDD)
key Facts Illustration (KFI)
- Training and Competence
- Reporting, Monitoring and Enforcement
- The Application
The seminars are full day events and the delegate price of £200 is inclusive of VAT, all refreshments, lunch and a complete seminar documentation pack.
MCCB is inviting representatives from its registered firms to attend the seminars and full details and a faxback booking form have been sent out with its industry newsletter - MCCB News. The form – which includes full instructions on how to book places - can also be accessed and downloaded from MCCB’s website www.mortgagecode.org.uk by following the links in Industry/Publications/Forms.
Richard Fox, Compliance Director at MCCB, said
“The seminars are being carefully planned to assist firms in the practical implementation of the final FSA rules, which have now been published. We are providing an unbiased, comprehensive but cost effective training event that will particularly benefit smaller intermediary firms. Based on our wide experience of compliance issues and in running successful Mortgage Code related training events we anticipate a strong demand for the seminars, so I would advise firms to act quickly in reserving the places they require.”
