Melton BS and The Mortgage Brain announce key hires

Melton Building Society and The Mortgage Brain have announced new leadership appointments, with Kath Myers (pictured left) joining the mutual as a non-executive director and James Chutter (pictured right) taking on the role of new build partnerships head at the Gloucester-based mortgage broker.

Myers brings over 40 years of financial services experience, including senior executive roles at National Australia Group, Barclays, and Cumberland Building Society. A fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers (FCIB), she has expertise in commercial lending, banking, credit analysis, foreign exchange (FX) options, and credit cards.

“I’m thrilled to be joining the organisation as we start to celebrate turning 150 years old and work towards the delivery of the next stages of the society’s digital transformation,” Myers said. “It’s a crucial time to represent the views of our membership and guide the organisation in forging a society fit to serve our members for the next 150 years.”

Meanwhile, Chutter joins The Mortgage Brain after six years at Leeds Building Society, where he was a corporate account manager working with mortgage clubs and networks. He previously spent five years at NatWest as a field development manager and six years as a bank manager for Royal Bank of Scotland, overseeing multiple branches.

“I’m delighted to be joining The Mortgage Brain at this exciting time of growth as they deliver innovative solutions tailored to the needs of developers and homebuyers,” Chutter said. “I look forward to nurturing existing relationships and developing new partnerships. I can’t wait to get started in the role.”

The Mortgage Brain collaborates with major housebuilders, including Barratt, Redrow, Berkeley Group, and Bovis Homes, offering exclusive mortgage rates and independent mortgage advice.
