The packaging arm of Mortgage Support Network, Broker Support Services and Mortgage Support Direct has seen its activity levels and number of applications rise rapidly since the beginning of the year.
The ‘all status’ packager that processes mortgage applications on a single generic application form for high street, niche and sub-prime lenders has seen business levels rise in all areas.
New applications were up almost 120% in February over the average of the last 6 months and a record 25% above the company’s previous 5 year record.
Managing Director Jason Graham comments, “Our continued rise in new applications is testimony to the hard work done by our office and field based sales and support teams. The re-introduction of our generic application form in January, after ‘sign off’ post regulation by all our packaged lenders, has also been greatly welcomed by our members.”
Although regulation has had an impact on a number of packagers recently, with both small and major players reporting redundancies, Mortgage-1 appears to be bucking this trend.
Sales Director David Morgan confirms, “We have an excellent team of staff within Mortgage-1 and constantly strive to offer the highest levels of service. The recent increased business levels have meant we have been working longer hours and weekends to ensure we maintain our service standards. Additional underwriters have been added to the team recently and our recruitment of quality staff in all areas continues.”
