The body, to be known as the Association of Mortgage Packagers, has set up a six person steering committee to ready it for a provisional launch date of 31 March 2002.
Tony Yorke, spokesman for the fledging organisation, said: "The Association aims to provide a strong leadership for the packaging community, and form a strong lobbying group with both high-street and sub-prime lenders. The group also hopes to have a strong external focus and put pressure on Government committees and the Financial Services Authority (FSA)."
