Some of the UK's top lenders were among the winners at the Mortgage Talk annual awards ceremony, held at Rotherham's Magna science adventure centre.
The event was hosted by Gold Medallist swimmer Sharron Davies MBE, and was attended by over 300 guests including lenders and estate agents, including Mortgage Talk franchisees.
In total, 16 awards were presented, including the Lender Award for Best Product, which was won by the Alliance & Leicester, with Ben Bailey Homes carrying off the award for Best New Homes Builder. The Halifax won the Lender Award for Best Service in
2005.
Among the mortgage broker's internal awards, the Top New Advisor of 2005 category was won by Jamie Barnett of Lawrence Wright Mortgage Services, which also won the Best new Franchise class. The Most Improved Franchise award was won by Thirlwells.
Sheffield-based estate agency Blundell's received four awards, including the prestigious Best Estate Agency of 2005 accolade, as well as recognition for Sue Pope as Best Mortgage Advisor in 2005. The individual award for outstanding contribution in 2005 also went to Blundell's Partner Steve Hinshelwood.
