While Peter is an accomplished runner with two marathons to his credit, Andrew is something of a novice and is still getting used to the often hard training schedules organised by Peter. "The going will be tough," Andrew commented, adding, "But it will all be worthwhile if we are successful in raising our target of £10,000 for each of the two charities we are supporting."
"Mortgage Talk has already raised £12,000 towards the cost of the new chemotherapy unit for Sheffield's Weston Park Cancer Appeal. We now want to demonstrate our continuing support to ensure that the ongoing maintenance and support costs can be met. We hope that our contributions on the day will further assist this good cause," he added.
The other charity to be supported by the run will be the British Heart Foundation, chosen for personal reasons by Andrew, and in recognition of all the excellent work that they accomplish.
"I can't imagine that we will be among the first few to cross the line, despite all our training," said Peter. "But we will have the knowledge that our efforts have enabled two very worthwhile charities to benefit in some small way, and that's even better than a winner's medal as far as we are concerned."
