Mortgage Times to host national roadshows

The events, which follow on the back of a similar tour last year, are free to attend and will focus on key features and upcoming changes within the mortgage industry. The events will also feature a compliance clinic where industry experts will be on hand to answer any compliance-related questions.

One feature Mortgage Times said was sure to attract attention is a guide to Home Information Packs (HIPs), given many brokers are still sceptical of the government’s plans in this area.

Daniel Clayden, director of Clayden Associates, is one broker who is questioning the impact of HIPs and thinks they are just an added complication in the mortgage process.

“No one really knows how they are going to turn out but they are sure to cause additional complications, so people need to be getting ready now,” he said.

Also at the roadshow will be Trigold and Mortgage Brain to offer tips and advice on their respective sourcing systems, while many of the industry’s top names from lenders and product providers will also be in attendance.

Payam Azadi, head of marketing at The Mortgage Times Group, is confident the events will be of great help to brokers. He said: “They will make a difference in the way brokers do business as brokers, networks and lenders will all be in the same place and they can ask questions and find out about the latest updates in the industry. We want to make sure that, if the broker takes time out to come to see us, they will add value to their business, whether they sign up to anything on the day or not.”

The first of the roadshows will take place in Central London on 28 February and those who attend any of the events will receive 1.5 hours Continuous Professional Development (CPD) certificates.
