Since joining Mortgage Express in 1990, Dawson was appointed finance director and deputy managing director before becoming managing director in October 2001. During his time at Mortgage Express he was intimately involved in the sale of Mortgage Express to the Bradford & Bingley Group in 1997. Since then he, along with his management team, have developed Mortgage Express into the UK’s leading intermediary specialist lender.
Dawson said: “Over the last 16 years I have worked with my management team to build Mortgage Express into the leader position it enjoys in today’s specialist lending market. Having achieved this success I feel that now is an appropriate time to step down and let someone else lead the company through its next stage of development.”
Steven Crawshaw, group chief executive of Bradford & Bingley, said that the current Mortgage Express management team will continue to work together, and will now report directly to Bradford & Bingley’s board lending director, Chris Gillespie.
“Tim has done a splendid job adding a huge amount of value to both Mortgage Express and the Bradford & Bingley Group in general. We wish him a well-earned and fruitful retirement.”
