The move is destined to strengthen still further the fast-growing credibility of the scheme and its commitment to raising standards across the entire sector. Increasing consumer confidence in letting or renting property by using an accredited agent is a key objective of the scheme. Many of the best-known estate agents in the country have signed up to the NALS service commitment, including Halifax Estate Agents, Chancellors nd Sequence. The Citizens’ Advice Bureau also recommends the use of NALS agents to their clients.
Commenting on the move, NALS chairman Hugh Dunsmore-Hardy, said: “In encouraging non-affiliated firms to join NALS, we are recognising that there are businesses whose principals have so far not wished to seek membership of a professional body but who subscribe to best practice in lettings and management.”
