The fledging body is sending out over 15,000 emails to the intermediary sector that enquire about the proposals for statutory regulation of mortgage advice, and seek sectorial support for NAMBA as the only independent representative body in the marketplace.
Charles Gooding, managing director of One Mortgage Solution and Chairman of the NAMBA Steering Committee, said: "We are pleased with the growing support and the interest taken in NAMBA. To be a credible representative body, we need to spread the message far and wide. Equally important, NAMBA needs to brief the other sectorial representative bodies and the regulators.
"NAMBA is talking to a lot of people at the moment and I am pleased to say that there is a definite warming to what NAMBA is trying to achieve. Both industry participants and commentators can see that NAMBA is now a durable organisation and the people behind it are committed to its success. NAMBA welcomes support from all quarters and while maintenance of its independence is one of its principal goals, we are very keen to develop close working relationships with the lenders and other financial institutions which will have an interest in distribution and the role of the intermediary.
