When asked which lenders’ BDMs were good, seven in 10 intermediaries voted for Nationwide, 22% more than those who voted for its nearest competitor.
When asked which lenders’ BDMs they had the most contact with, Nationwide also came top, with a 14% lead.
In addition, the survey showed that the mutual was the most recommended mainstream lender. Its score was up 9% from the last quarter, coming top for the first time.
Following a campaign to promote lending to first-time buyers, Nationwide also rose to the top of the pack for “lenders most likely to be recommended for first-time buyers”.
The mutual’s specialist lending arm The Mortgage Works has maintained its number one spot for most recommended specialist mortgage lender, 16% ahead of its nearest competitor, according to the survey.
Ian Andrew, managing director of group intermediary sales, said: “Intermediaries are important to us and we take their feedback very seriously. These results tell us that Nationwide’s BDMs are the most active in the intermediary market and rated as best in class against our peer group.
“We are thrilled with the level of support our BDMs provide to brokers and by the positive impact it is having. However, it doesn’t mean we can rest on our laurels. We will continue to strive for excellence in our products, services and relationships with intermediaries going forward.”
