The numbers reflect those firms processed by the FSA, not those in the pipeline within the FSA or those still being processed by the networks.
Richard Griffiths, Managing Director of Network Data, comments “We know from our own experience at Network Data that in addition to the 288 AR firms listed we have a further 225 in the pipeline, a total of 513 firms, employing a total of 725 mortgage advisers.
With new applications from brokers still arriving every day, you can safely conclude that the numbers shown for each of the networks will more or less double over the next few weeks.”
The FSA register lists only the firms, not the number of mortgage advisers within each firm.
Mortgage Next and Freedom Finance were not listed on the FSA web register as at November 1st so no information was available for them.
