Gary, 49, a chartered accountant, has more than 20 years experience in the financial services sector, most recently in a senior role in the KPMG Financial Services Advisory practice. His experience also includes strategy planning, operational and finance roles at Zurich Financial Services (formerly Eagle Star) and RSA (formerly Royal Insurance).
Commenting on his appointment Gary said: "I am delighted to take over the reins at The Loughborough, which has been very carefully and successfully managed despite the difficult economic climate. My vision is to build on this success and ensure that the Society is well positioned to deliver value to our members and enhance our brand and reputation.
“I am excited about the opportunities, but also mindful of the challenges that the Society must deal with, particularly in the current economic climate. The Loughborough has a great track record, a thriving membership and a bright future. To succeed we must continue to offer a high quality service and competitive products. We have an outstanding team of people, and I am looking forward to working with them at all levels to continue building on the previous successes of the business.”
Colin Bradley, who was acting chief executive has been appointed deputy chief executive.
