Friends Provident plc announced today that Trevor Matthews has joined the company as chief executive officer.
Friends Provident also announced that Charles Bellringer will be appointed to the Board of Friends Provident on 4 August as interim chief financial officer. He has over 30 years experience in finance including senior roles at Legal & General, GE Capital, Metropolitan Life and Equitable Life. He joined Equitable in May 2001 after the new Chairman was appointed and led the financial reconstruction project. His role at Friends Provident is full time and he is expected to be at Friends Provident until a permanent chief financial officer is appointed.
Friends Provident is in the process of implementing its revised strategy that was announced on 31 January.
