Lofthouse joins from Assuresoft, where he held the position of managing director.
Jack Saxton, chairman of the lender consortium that own Mortgage Brain, said: "I am delighted that Mark is joining MBL as its Chief Executive. He brings to the appointment considerable business experience, industry expertise and character. In particular, his knowledge of delivering Internet-based services, high value software solutions and services will be of immense value to the company as we widen and strengthen the scope of the business."
The six strong MBL consortium is looking to re-develop its mortgage trading platform this year, following the announcement late last year that mortgage introducers are to be regulated by the FSA, and lenders will not be responsible for monitoring information.
Lofthouse said: "I am very pleased to be taking up this appointment as Chief Executive of Mortgage Brain. Mortgage Brain has successfully overcome many challenges during the last year, it is clear that this is a strong organisation with the essential ingredients to build on its success. I look forward very much to working with the team at MBL, our customers and lender partners in the years to come."
