The structure of the organisation along with the branding will be unveiled at a launch to be held in London.
Nigel Waterson (chairman) and Andrea Rozario (director general) as well as other key stakeholders will unveil further details at the launch, which will include the future vision for this new trade body and the industry as a whole.
This move will enable a more cohesive approach to future lobbying and profile raising for equity release.
In the run up to the launch, SHIP is actively working to engage with all interested stakeholders – including advisers, solicitors, surveyors and charities - to ensure that the new organisation is as representative of the equity release industry as possible.
All interested parties are urged to contact SHIP on [email protected] . A waiting list for potential new members is now open.
Commenting, Andrea Rozario, Director General of SHIP, said: “After an extensive development process, we are delighted to announce that we will be launching the new organisation on 28 May 2012 at a prestigious event in London.
“This step is significant – not only for us as a trade body but also for the industry, as it will mean that we will be able to work together to increase consumer understanding of the sector and ensure that considering how to use housing equity becomes a normal part of retirement planning.”
