The UK could be set for a new housing minister with incumbent Brandon Lewis in line for a promotion following the accession of Theresa May to the role of Prime Minister.
Lewis, who became housing minister in July 2014, has been a key supporter of May and was often seen at the front of her campaign.
Speaking of May's appointment he said: "Theresa May will make a fantastic Prime Minister, possessing as she does the necessary skills, determination and experience to lead the country going forwards.
“Theresa has been very clear that the British people have spoken and that ‘Brexit means Brexit’ and I am sure that she will appoint to her cabinet a cross section of ministers from both sides of the debate to ensure unity going forwards.
"Even before the decision of Andrea Leadsom to step down, Theresa had the support of the majority of Conservative MPs, both Remainers and Leavers, who recognised in her the ability to unite the party and go forwards with carrying out our manifesto commitments."
Other key allies in her campaign have included Karen Bradley, Richard Harrington and James Brokenshire, who all worked with May as Home Office ministers.
