George – formerly the managing director of First National Bank plc – takes charge of managing Commercial First’s ambitious growth plans with immediate effect. He will have overall responsibility for running the business on a day to day basis.
David Johnson becomes chief executive of CFM, to whom George will report. Meanwhile, Martin Finegold becomes executive director, a role that will enable him to concentrate his efforts on the company’s funding and securitisation requirements.
“I believe this has got to be one of the biggest and most exciting jobs around at the present time and I’m delighted to accept the role of managing director,” commented Philip George. “My track record, together with those of the other members of the senior management team, will ensure that Commercial First continues to build on the excellent results that it has already achieved in its first few months of trading.”
