The launch of Working Together will take place at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole at Birmingham’s NEC and will be opened by John Daniels from the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister (ODPM) on behalf of Lord Rooker.
The local authorities are being invited to produce their top six priorities for the private rented sector for 2005. Ways of achieving these objectives will be explored including the local authorities Working Together with the NFRL national training team to bring landlords up to date on their new responsibilities.
Now that the Housing Act has received Royal Assent, this is the perfect time to forge new partnerships. The Working Together initiative is the brainchild of landlord Frank Hardy, vice-chair of East Midlands Property Owners, (EMPO) which is an affiliated member of the NFRL. Frank Hardy and EMPO have established an excellent working relationship with their own local authority in Nottingham and believe that communication, co-ordination and co-operation are the only way forward for the private rented sector – by Working Together.
