Dead Ringers impressionist Jon Culshaw hosted the awards.
The awards were voted for by mortgage brokers who are members of the Legal & General Mortgage Club. Club lenders were rated against a series of criteria including products, service, sales and marketing as well as their ebusiness capability. Northern Rock topped the table with Halifax in second place and Accord Mortgages third.
The Legal & General Mortgage Club Awards recognise excellence among lenders and also celebrate the achievements of Mortgage Club members during 2003.
In the other award categories for lenders, the winners were:
- Best Lender for Products – Woolwich
- Best Lender for Service – Halifax
- Best Lender for Sales & Marketing – Northern Rock
- Best Lender for Technology – Halifax
- Best Specialist Lender for Products – BM Solutions
- Best Overall Specialist Lender – BM Solutions
In addition to the awards for lenders, awards were presented to members of the Legal & General Mortgage Club to recognise their performance in the mortgage market during 2003. The winners were:
- Fastest Growing IFA – Park Row Independent Mortgages
- Top IFA – Owen & Associates
- Fastest Growing Business Partner (more than 100 cases)– HRK & Associates.
- Fastest Growing Business Partner (more than 500 cases) – Stonebridge Mortgage Services
- Top Business Partner – Mortgage Advice Bureau
David Foord-Divers of Woolwich was also named Business Development Manager of the Year.
