N&P fought off strong competition from First Direct, Citigroup and ICICI, the fast-growing Indian bank, to be the outright winner.
N&P’s electronic trading service was an internally developed, Internet solution to enable mortgage intermediaries and direct customers to receive a “key features illustration”, “approval in principal”, case submission and case tracking. The solution has been very well received by the industry and provides improved speed of service for the Society’s customers.
N&P’s electronic trading service has already been awarded Innovator of the Year (regional) in the 2005 Mortgage Finance Gazette awards and was voted the best lender site for usability and reliability by Bradford and Bingley Mortgage Advisors in a comparison of electronic mortgage trading systems. The software solution from the project has already been sold to other companies, which are planning to launch services in 2006.
David Jervis N&P’s General Manager Business Services commented: ”This is a fantastic achievement and reflects the approach of getting the IT development staff to visit mortgage introducers before commencing this development to find out exactly what they wanted.”
Duncan Pownall from Bradford and Bingley stated that: “It is great news that Norwich and Peterborough has won this award which fully endorses the results of our Mortgage Advisor survey."
