SearchFlow welcomed the announcement from PISCES* at last week’s Property Forum Annual Dinner confirming its relationship with the ODPM to develop a standard for information exchange, which will be vital with the onset of Home Information Packs (HIPs).
Mark Riddick, chief executive of SearchFlow and chairman of PISCES, said: “The 10th Property Forum dinner was a great opportunity to hear the latest developments regarding HIPs from the Housing Minister, Baroness Andrews. In particular, the announcement from PISCES that it plans to work closely with the ODPM to develop an industry standard for sharing property data was very well received. This is an important development in our
marketplace to have the Government involved, and one that we at SearchFlow very much welcome.”
Added Roger de Boehmler, director general of PISCES: “The ODPM has always been very supportive of PISCES' work around property data standards, and I am delighted to announce that we are engaged in detailed, practical discussions about the department taking up membership of PISCES. This new level of co-operation shows that PISCES is now regarded as part of the
infrastructure of the UK property industry.”
The Property Forum continues to be a premier event in the property industry calendar, with a clear niche as a forum for discussing how the industry will be shaped by technology legislation at a strategic level. Over 120 property industry professionals attended the function on 1 December, including solicitors, surveyors, estate agency practices, lenders and
suppliers.
“We are extremely grateful to the Minister for taking time to address the Forum, and provide an update on HIPs and how the programme is progressing. The event proved to be an enormous success for all who attended,” concluded
Mark Riddick.
