She has over 20 years of experience in financial services
Mortgage technology provider One Mortgage System (OMS) has announced the appointment of Melanie Spencer (pictured) as its business partnership and growth director.
Spencer has over 20 years of experience in financial services, having played a leading role in both lending and intermediary firms. She joins OMS from finova, where she progressed from group business development director and head of the MCI Mortgage Club to become a director of the business. Prior to finova, she was head of lender relations at Twenty7tec and held a number of roles at Personal Touch Financial Services, spanning a 10-year period.
As business partnership and growth director, Spencer will play a vital role in promoting the OMS platform while facilitating new lender onboarding, lender integrations, and third-party collaborations. She is expected to use her extensive experience and network of contacts to find opportunities where the OMS system will make a difference for lenders, brokers and third parties.
Her appointment will strengthen OMS’s senior management team and enhance the lender origination operation, as well as help to break into new markets.
“In what remains a transitional time for the mortgage market, it’s essential for tech providers to demonstrate their ongoing value, expertise, and support network for all their customers,” commented Neal Jannels, managing director of One Mortgage System. “At OMS, we are focused on ensuring that we have the right infrastructure in place to deliver the best possible service levels at all times.
“Mel comes with a huge amount of experience and in-depth understanding of all the unique components across both lenders and the intermediary mortgage market, and I’m sure that she will prove a huge asset to the business and play a key role in our ambitious growth strategy.”
Commenting on her appointment, Spencer said she was looking forward to joining a business which was on a positive growth trajectory.
“I have been closely following the progress made by OMS over the past 12 to 18 months,” she shared. “OMS has already achieved so much, but the potential for growth is huge as they drive forward to be one of the leading CRM and mortgage origination firms in the mortgage industry.
“Having worked for both lending and intermediary firms, I am looking forward to helping OMS to really make a difference both for intermediaries, and with lenders in the mortgage origination space. Together, I know we can really make our mark within this competitive arena.”
