It names LMS CEO as new executive member
The Open Property Data Association (OPDA) has expanded its executive committee with the appointment of Nick Chadbourne, chief executive of conveyancing services provider LMS.
As the UK’s first trade association creating and driving the adoption of open property data, OPDA seeks to transform the house buying process through the creation of world-leading property data standards in the country.
The executive committee of OPDA is comprised of 14 industry leaders, technology innovators, and organisations, which include mortgage lenders, property and proptech firms, conveyancers, and estate agents.
OPDA said the addition of LMS further enriches the collective expertise and collaborative spirit that embodies the association.
Last July, OPDA appointed One Mortgage System’s Dale Jannels as its first intermediary executive member. Shortly after, it added Australian-founded fintech provider PEXA to its membership and chief product officer Krystle Kocik to its executive committee. It then welcomed United Trust Bank as its first mortgage lender member, followed by digital lender Atom bank, with Buster Tolfree and Helen Wilson also joining the committee.
“The OPDA launched in June this year to transform the way we use data to buy and sell houses,” said Maria Harris, chair of the Open Property Data Association. “We have been looking for members who understand our vision and who are also passionate to achieve the change we know is possible.
“LMS has been on its own drive to digitise and change the process for the better, so Nick Chadbourne is a perfect complement to our executive committee. Transforming the property sector through digital thinking and data-led solutions needs influential industry firms to lead the way, so having Nick bring his expertise, knowledge, and undoubted influence will be hugely beneficial.
Commenting on his appointment, Chadbourne said he was delighted to be a founding executive member and was looking forward to working with other OPDA members.
“With principles of collaboration, innovation and digital transformation at its core, the OPDA is perfectly aligned with LMS’ vision for the industry,” he pointed out. “We’re committed to driving positive change and making the entire conveyancing journey efficient and customer centric. This is the key, but it cannot be done without having a fully cohesive data approach. The OPDA will be vital in that.”
