The system offers firms case tracking, broker management software, customer relationship management, proc fee calculations and is server-based.
Matthew Bright, managing director of Optoma, said: “This system has been specifically written for mortgage industry packagers across the board.
“Having developed the system for our own business we believe it can now be rolled out for other business in the sector.”
He went on to claim that the software would enable businesses to better identify marketing opportunities and was designed to compliment telesales customer relationship management.
Paul Brett, director of sales and marketing at FastCom Mortgage Packaging, said: “This is a good PR exercise for Optoma but there are already a number of other systems claiming to do these things out there, like Dashboard and SDS.
“But if this system is easy to use and does not need a lot of work from the user then it could be interesting.”
He added: “Packagers who don’t have up-to-date IT will suffer as service standards across the industry continue to improve.”
Rachel Bancroft, managing director of KGB Packaging, said: “There is always a need for a system that is easy to use and fast and accurate but there is a lot of competition out there.”
Bright said the system would be priced at £10,000 a year, a cost that Bancroft thought expensive.
