The service from Opus will enable brokers from England, Wales and Northern Ireland, as well as Scotland, to provide their customers with conveyancing at fixed fees.
Brokers will use a ‘ready reckoner’ on the Opus website to obtain a competitive cost for conveyancing against the value of the client’s property and then place instructions by e-mail or fax.
In return they will automatically receive a referral fee on completion.
The Opus system created by LMS has the flexibility to deal with both transactional and remortgaging conveyancing, so brokers will be able to use all mortgage work to generate extra income for no additional outlay, and for only a few minutes of work per case.
Lockhart Bruce, managing director of Opus Mortgages, said: “Service is at the heart of Opus - the relationships we build with our clients and partners ensure that 95 per cent of the cases we process go through to completion.
“By providing a fast and professional conveyancing service through LMS’s proven and reliable systems we will be extending both the service and the revenue we offer brokers, while at the same time helping them to provide an even better service to their clients.
“Our partnership with LMS is a planned development of our track record in responding promptly to the demands of our clients which has led us to provide some of the UK's most innovative and market driven products.”
Dominic Toller, director of marketing and new business at LMS, said: “Opus has built its reputation and market position through attention to detail and high standards of service.
“LMS shares those values, so we are very proud and pleased that we have been selected to provide Opus with its online conveyancing service for brokers using our unique technology, robust management systems and nationwide network of law firms.
“Because of the depth and strength of our systems LMS has the capability and flexibility to create tailor-made services which suit a wide range of organisations like Opus and their clients.”
