The Orbiter system has been built using the latest online technology and adopts many of the intuitive features more commonly associated with consumer facing e-commerce sites. This is intended to make brokers’ jobs easier and to encourage them to embrace online sourcing and processing within their daily work.
Andy Brown, director of Orbiter, explained: “One of the questions from advisers that we set out to answer when we started this project was ‘why can’t mortgage websites be as simple to use as Amazon and eBay?’ Orbiter aims to provide an easy to use online experience for mortgage intermediaries whilst at the same time being built using some incredibly complex technology. This is set to be a year of huge change in the market, and Orbiter will be flying the flag for the new generation of mortgage technology.”
Brown continued: “In life in general, people have a tendency to make things difficult for themselves. Our message with Orbiter is to let technology do the work for you – work with it rather than against it. Life without mobile phones, Amazon and eBay is unthinkable today. Our vision is that this is how mortgage advisers will feel about Orbiter in the years to come.”
The Orbiter system is set to launch next month with a panel of 30 lenders and will offer a whole of market proposition by the end of the year.
