This latest award follows Origo's win in the 'Most Innovative Technology' category in Pensions Management's inaugural awards in August 2003.
Origo won the award for UNIPASS, which is a digital certificate that is free to IFAs and is paid for by providers. Designed to give financial advisers a secure, unique online identity, UNIPASS provides them with access to all the services they use on the Internet with the use of one simple 'digital key'.
Now in their fourth year, the National Business Awards of Scotland are designed to promote the importance of business excellence in a devolved Scotland. All entries are assessed against the criterion of success, innovation and ethics.
Commenting on Origo's latest accolade, Paul Pettitt, managing director of Origo, said: "UNIPASS is fast revolutionising the UK's financial services industry by making the working lives of IFAs easier and enabling a wide range of organisations, from portals to providers, to perform more efficiently than ever before.
"Nearly 8,000 UNIPASS applications from financial advisers have now been processed and 11 product providers and portals are currently realising the benefits of the technology. With momentum continuing to build, we expect this number to steadily increase over the coming months."
