Butterfield will be responsible for promoting effective communications at Park Row (both internally and externally) and facilitating relationships with product providers, lenders and the media. He will also be responsible for overseeing Park Row’s continuing commitment to developing bespoke technology packages to support its growing team of advisers throughout the UK.
Formerly with the Royal Navy (where he served on two frigates and was deployed in the Gulf twice), John Butterfield has subsequently spent 17 years in the financial services industry. Most recently, he was with Standard Life as a broker consultant, but he also has considerable experience of direct sales, administration, team management, training and support. In these various roles, he has had contact with Park Row ever since the Group was established in 1998.
Speaking of this appointment, Park Row’s managing director, Tim Newman said: “This is an important appointment for Park Row. As an IFA operating out of 40 locations nationwide and with a continuous and healthy programme of adviser recruitment, we place high emphasis on developing efficient communication channels and effective training. John Butterfield comes to us with a broad range of relevant experience which will help him to tackle a job which has equally wide scope.”
John Butterfield himself commented: “Over recent years, I have watched Park Row grow and have always admired the way in which they support their advisers through their investment in financial services technology, superlative training and efficient administration back-up. My job will be to stick to that formula and to build on the excellent relationships that already exist.”
In addition to John Butterfield’s appointment, Park Row has also announced that it has awarded financial services specialist marketing agency, The Outsourced Marketing Department (TOMD Ltd) a two-year contract to handle its PR, advertising and the provision of marketing literature and website materials.
Park Row has been an ‘early adopter’ of the concept of outsourcing its marketing requirements to this specialist agency that uses modern technology to behave – to all intents and purposes – like an internal department. The Outsourced Marketing Department has worked on Park Row’s account since the Group’s inception as an ‘overflow’ resource but will now become more integrated as an internal resource. A senior executive of TOMD will work with Park Row alongside John Butterfield. However, John Butterfield will be the primary contact for journalists seeking to contact Park Row.
