Gaynor Waterman, underwriting director at Partnership Assurance, completed a four-day trek through the Andes in Peru to reach the lost city of the Incas – Machu Picchu.
The trek required climbing to 4,200m above sea level, where altitude reduces oxygen levels by almost a third. All 39 entrants successfully completed the trek which involved climbing up to ‘Dead Women’s Pass’ – the highest point of the infamous Inca Trail.
Gaynor commented: “ It certainly wasn’t an easy task, but it was all worth it when we reached our destination. I am absolutely delighted with the amount of money raised for such a worthwhile charity.”
